Living on Campus

TranscriptBack

Over 80% of Nichols’ undergrad students live on campus, and there’s a whole lot of good reasons why. Let’s start with the comfortable, wired dorm rooms located just feet from the academic halls. Then try the food in the Lombard Dining Hall, or grab something at our 3 fast-casual experiences: Jazzman’s, Tres Habeneros, or the WOW Café. From there, it’s all about the clubs, the athletics, and the supportive, family atmosphere. There’s always something to do and there’s always someone to talk to.

Our residence halls are located in lower campus. The dorms range from traditional rooms, suite-style living, and modern apartments, and 80% of our students live on campus. Shamie Hall is where most students begin their journey at Nichols. Shamie is the largest residence hall on campus and features private bathrooms in each room. When I was living in Shamie, my friends and I used to go up to the third floor. We would sit at the end of the hallway, and we would make so many friends from just sitting there.

During my junior year, I lived in Remillard Hall, which offers suite-style living. When I lived in Rem, I lived with five of my best friends, and we would have movie and karaoke night, which was the best time ever. Now I live in Copper Beech II. The Copper Beech apartments offer apartment-style living primarily for seniors. Each suite has a private bathroom, full kitchen, and living area.

Copper Beach I and II are connected by the quad, where students gather for games and activities throughout the year. Now, since living in Copper, my roommates and I have family dinner every Wednesday night. And I love it so much, and it's super sweet.
